Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Rainer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dimitri Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Chad Campbell and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rainer moves in looking to clinch but Emelianenko pushes him off.
Emelianenko on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Rainer throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Emelianenko moves into the clinch.
Rainer drops down looking for an ankle pick but Emelianenko pulls his leg out and moves away.
Emelianenko gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Rainer counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rainer fails to land with a series of punches.
Rainer misses with a double jab

and Emelianenko counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Emelianenko landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Rainer is trying to maintain the position but Emelianenko is very close to passing his half guard.
Emelianenko content to control rather than advance.
It looks like Emelianenko might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Emelianenko moves into full mount! Rainer won't be happy about that!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Emelianenko should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Rainer is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

Emelianenko swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
