Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Young!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kurt Angle!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angle leaves Young with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown attempt by Angle or perhaps it was just good defense by Young, which made it look bad.
Young tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Angle manages to circle out of the way.

Young looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Young content to control rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Angle is pressing down on Young's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Young seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Young looks to land a strike but Angle avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Young wants to pass the guard but Angle is keeping the position.
Young is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Angle can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Young controls the pace.

Young wants to stand but Angle is controlling his arm.

Angle is looking for a sweep.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Young looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Angle is fending him off so far but Young persists. Nope, Angle circles away and we're back to standing.

Young tried to counter with a leg kick but Angle avoided it.
Young throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Angle tries to clinch there but Young circles away.
Angle has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Young is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Young has Angle up against the cage in a clinch.

Angle is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Young can't fight it off and eventually Angle manages to take the fight to the floor. Young looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Angle advances to half guard.
Angle not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Young is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Young shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Angle wants to get back to full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Young clinches.

Young successfully pulls guard.

Angle drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Angle as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Young screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Angle! Nice submission victory there!
