Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Mathis (ranked 7036 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fighter Three (ranked 25223 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jacob Mathis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fighter Three!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Three stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Three wants it to stay on the feet.
Three tries to clinch but Mathis is having none of it.

Three closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mathis to the mat! Mathis manages to get full guard.
Mathis is looking to stand back up but Three counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Mathis.

Three is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mathis wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mathis is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Three is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Mathis pushes Three off looking to stand but Three dives back in and keeps control.

Three is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Mathis makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Mathis dives in and grabs Three's left leg, looking for a takedown. Three pushes down on Mathis's head and hops out.
Horrible takedown attempt by Three or perhaps it was just good defense by Mathis, which made it look bad.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Three.

Three shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mathis but Mathis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mathis closes the distance and clinches up with Three, looking for a takedown. Mathis pushes Three against the cage but Three circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Three looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Three tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mathis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mathis is looking for a counter combo.
Three shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mathis makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Mathis manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Three on his heels. He'll look to pass Three's guard now, I'm sure.

Three tries to strike from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Three looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mathis is one step ahead there.
Mathis trying to control the position from guard on top but Three is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Three is working an open guard so Mathis takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mathis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mathis dives in and grabs Three's left leg, looking for a takedown. Three pushes down on Mathis's head and hops out.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Three is defended easily by Mathis.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Three unleashes a big counter combination but Mathis bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Three shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mathis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Mathis wants to stand but Three is controlling the position.

Three swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Mathis is now in Three's guard. A big mistake from Three there, giving up the dominant position!

Fighter Three seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mathis takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

A close second round but Fighter Three will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Three's corner calls for a 1-2. Three obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Mathis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Mathis is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Three knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Mathis sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Three is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Three is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Mathis lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Three down.
Three tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Mathis decides to take the fight back to the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mathis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Three's waist but Three gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mathis off to one side.

And that's the end of the fight!
