PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between A A Ron Jenkins (ranked 4573 p4p, 534 weight class) and Zukaan Nurudinov (ranked 5626 p4p, 582 weight class). Jenkins comes into the arena with Iron Man blaring out of the sound system. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jenkins throws a head kick that misses.

Nurudinov closes the distance and clinches.
Jenkins tries to throw a body punch but Nurudinov avoids it by throwing Jenkins back against the cage.

Nurudinov breaks the clinch.
Jenkins misses with a head kick.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Jenkins - that will leave a mark!
Jenkins lands a nice looking body kick.
Nurudinov tries to clinch there but Jenkins circles away.

Jenkins moves into the clinch.

Nurudinov manages to break the clinch.

Jenkins connects with a solid leg kick.
Jenkins throws a head kick but Nurudinov moves out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nurudinov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jenkins swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Nurudinov gets to his feet - Jenkins follows without any prompting.

Nurudinov feints and as Jenkins raises his hands in defense, Nurudinov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nurudinov prevents Jenkins from getting back to his feet.
Jenkins can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nurudinov controls the pace.
Jenkins wants to get back to his feet but Nurudinov is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Nurudinov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jenkins's head.
Jenkins looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Jenkins is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Nurudinov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jenkins wants to stand and escape but Nurudinov is having none of it.

Nurudinov stops Jenkins from standing up.
Nurudinov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jenkins swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jenkins moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Nurudinov misses with a leg kick.
Jenkins fails with the takedown

and Nurudinov moves into the clinch.
Nurudinov on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Nurudinov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jenkins walks away with a smile on his face. Nurudinov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Jenkins is trying to stand.

Nurudinov looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nurudinov connects with a nice short shot to Jenkins's temple.
Nurudinov is taking a breather. Jenkins says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Nurudinov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Jenkins gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Nurudinov to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Jenkins is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nurudinov is controlling him.
Nurudinov is looking to work some ground and pound but Jenkins has wrist control.
Nurudinov stands and throws Jenkins's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Nurudinov tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
The referee asks Nurudinov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Nurudinov prefers to stall for the moment though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jenkins is trying to buck Nurudinov off.
Nurudinov is trying to ground and pound but Jenkins uses the momentary lack of control by Nurudinov to regain half guard.
Nurudinov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Nurudinov is looking for a kimura but Jenkins is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nurudinov to get the leverage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Jenkins fails in his attempt to clinch.

Nurudinov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nurudinov showed some decent athleticism there.

Jenkins has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Nurudinov is on him like a limpet, forcing Jenkins back against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Nurudinov wants the takedown. Jenkins is fighting it off but Nurudinov persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Jenkins's guard against the cage.

Nurudinov is looking to pass into half guard but Jenkins pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Jenkins is in guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jenkins passes into side control, despite Nurudinov's attempt to control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
You can see the frustration on Nurudinov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

A close second round but Zukaan Nurudinov will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Nurudinov tightens his grip and picks Jenkins up, before dumping him to the ground. Jenkins manages to land in guard.

Jenkins has momentary wrist control but Nurudinov slips an elbow through the middle.

Nurudinov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jenkins is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nurudinov, into his guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Nurudinov has an active guard here but Jenkins has managed to pass into half guard.
Nurudinov is looking for a sweep. Jenkins is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jenkins is pushing Nurudinov's head away, looking to escape. Nurudinov manages to hold on to the position though.

I would just about give that final round to Zukaan Nurudinov.
