The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abde tries to clinch up.
Willis tries to counter by clinching up but Abde breaks away and moves out of range.
Abde scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Willis kicks Abde off and gets back to his feet.
Willis rushes Abde and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Abde is trying to pull guard but Willis turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Willis is pressed up against the cage. Abde has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Willis down to the mat. Willis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Abde stuffs the takedown attempt from Willis. Willis gets slowly back to his feet.
Abde now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Willis tries to close the distance and clinch but Abde swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Abde tries a head kick but it misses.
Abde closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Willis is not content to let Abde control the position.
Abde is pressing down on Willis's thigh, looking to free his foot. Willis is holding on for now.
Willis misses with some strikes from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Abde wants to free his trapped foot but Willis is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Abde is nestled in close to Willis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Willis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Willis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

As Abde tries to get set, Willis tries to push him back and clinch up but Abde manages to avoid the attempt.
Abde dives in and scores a takedown into Willis's guard.
Willis is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Abde presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Willis has left one of his arms exposed and Abde doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Willis screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
