PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between DJ Santos (ranked 7828 p4p, 560 weight class) and Fabrizio Iacomelli (ranked 25361 p4p, 620 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iacomelli throws a nice head kick!
Iacomelli tries a head kick but it misses.
It looked like Santos was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Santos blocks a head kick by Iacomelli.
Santos misses with a jab, cross combination.
Iacomelli turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Iacomelli throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Santos moves into the clinch.
Santos lands with a right to the head.

Santos pulls guard.
Iacomelli stopping the sweep attempt from Santos.

Santos pushes Iacomelli off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Santos closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Iacomelli to the mat! Iacomelli manages to get full guard.
Santos definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Santos is working Iacomelli over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Iacomelli can't keep his opponent in guard - Santos advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

A low kick from Iacomelli misses

and Santos counters with a takedown into side control.
Iacomelli is looking to get back to his feet here but Santos is keeping cool and he's managed to take Iacomelli's back.
