Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Beecher (ranked 3228 p4p, 157 weight class) and Jonathan Crane (ranked 4797 p4p, 135 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Beecher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Crane!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crane moves out of range as Beecher strikes.
Beecher keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And Beecher counters with a quick kick to the body but Crane blocks it.
Beecher misses with an uppercut.
Beecher blocks the body kick.
Crane shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Beecher defends it nicely.
Paul Beecher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beecher throws a series of punches but Crane moves out of range.
Crane moves away from the strike by Beecher.

Beecher really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Crane shoots in looking for a takedown but Beecher manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Crane's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Paul Beecher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonathan Crane.
Crane keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Beecher connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Crane's hands.
Beecher scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Crane looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Beecher is fending him off so far but Crane persists. Nope, Beecher circles away and we're back to standing.
Beecher swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Crane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Beecher tries to avoid it but Crane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Beecher to the ground. Beecher escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
It looked like Beecher was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Crane.

Beecher gets a clinch.
Beecher lands with a light punch inside.
Beecher throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Crane tries to pull guard but Beecher won't allow it.
Crane has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Beecher avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Beecher lands a body shot in the clinch.
Crane looks winded!
Beecher blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Crane jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Beecher walks away with a smile on his face. Crane gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Crane checks the leg kick nicely there.
Crane fails with the takedown
and Beecher connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Beecher ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Beecher looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Crane steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Beecher.
Beecher thuds a left hand into Crane's body.
Beecher throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Crane sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Beecher tries to land a front kick but Crane steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Crane is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Beecher throws a head kick but Crane moves out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Beecher feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Crane sprawling to the canvas! Crane rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Beecher finish him?!


Crane is rocked!
Beecher lands with a thumping leg kick.
Beecher misses with a lunging right hand
and Crane counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Beecher looking to land some kicks to the body here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Beecher dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Crane takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Crane shoots in for a takedown but Beecher shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Beecher is looking to counter with a body kick.
Beecher throws the left hand but Crane avoids the punch easily.
Beecher takes a swing at Crane's ribcage but misses.
Beecher misses with an uppercut. Crane saw that one coming.

Crane is trying to pull guard but Beecher turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Beecher throws a punch but it's blocked by Crane.
Beecher misses with a punch to the body.
Crane wants a takedown but no success here.
Beecher goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A right hand to the body from Beecher.
Beecher is working Crane over against the cage.
Crane is breathing heavily.

Beecher's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That kick from Beecher tenderised Crane's leg. Crane is trying to keep his angry face on.

Beecher drops Crane with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Crane looks back up at him and smiles so Beecher waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Crane is still on wobbly legs! Can Beecher finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Beecher pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Crane seems to have recovered his senses.
Beecher misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Crane.
Beecher fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Crane to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Crane looks to clinch but Beecher throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Crane taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Paul Beecher!
In his post fight interview, Paul Beecher started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
