And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shields throws a head kick that misses.
George darts in looking for a takedown but Shields gets double underhooks and turns George into the cage.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from George .
Shields throws a quick counter head kick but George was just out of range.
Shields stuffs the takedown attempt from George . George gets slowly back to his feet.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Shields has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

George shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shields's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as George accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Shields manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
George is trying to push Shields away but Shields has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

George pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

George gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

George fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Shields to the ground. George is now in Shields's guard.

Shields kicks George off and gets to his feet.

George shoots in and bounces Shields off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

George really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shields. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Shields is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

George drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Shields dives on top into guard.

Shields drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shields jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Shields might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

George looking for subs off his back but Shields has passed one foot through into half guard.
George has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shields is working away from the top position though.

Shields seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. George is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
