Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Mallone (ranked 4091 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zima Tsuku (ranked 5230 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Mallone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zima Tsuku!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mallone connects with a solid leg kick.
Good leg kick by Tsuku there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Tsuku throws a sloppy head kick and Mallone moves out of range easily.
Tsuku attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Mallone with a poor takedown
and Tsuku counters with a head kick. That will keep Mallone thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Tsuku uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mallone.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mallone is defended easily by Tsuku.
Mallone fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tsuku to the ground. Mallone is now in Tsuku's guard.
Mallone passes Tsuku's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Ground and pound from Mallone.
Tsuku really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mallone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, if Mallone is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mallone prevents Tsuku from standing back up.

Tsuku tries to kick Mallone off but Mallone keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Mallone lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Tsuku wants to get back to his feet.
Mallone stalling.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tsuku on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Mallone looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tsuku with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Mallone is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tsuku sees it coming and defends easily.

Tsuku scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Mallone manages to mount him!
Mallone scoring with strikes but Tsuku is staying in there.
Mallone lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Mallone looking to finish Tsuku with some ground and pound. This is bad for Tsuku!
Tsuku is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tsuku is looking to improve his position but Mallone isn't that keen on the idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mallone landing strikes from the mount.
Mallone with the ground and pound from mount.
Mallone is in the full mount, landing strikes.
You get the feeling that Tsuku really doesn't like being in this position too much.
A nice elbow there by Mallone.
Mallone in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Tsuku is rocked!
Mallone unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Tsuku wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Mallone celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Mallone!
