Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carter Mann (ranked 5479 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kareem Dennis (ranked 3237 p4p, 0 weight class). Mann comes into the arena with "Fingerbang" blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Carter Mann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Kareem Dennis !
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dennis misses with a hook
and Mann counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Dennis thinking.

Dennis closes the distance and pushes Mann back into the cage.
Mann blocking some punches.
Dennis tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mann smiles and moves away.
Mann keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mann steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dennis .
Mann thuds a left hand into Dennis 's body.

Dennis tests Mann's chin there with a solid looking shot.


It looks like Carter Mann has been cut.

Mann gets tackled into the cage by Dennis . Dennis maintains the clinch.

Dennis gets a trip takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mann wants to get back to his feet.
Dennis looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Dennis content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Mann is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at FIERCE - {{$750}} - 15 Elite Coaches, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Dennis throwing shots but Mann is blocking nicely.
Mann wants to get back to his feet.

Dennis is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mann has managed to free his arm - good work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dennis in particular looking to stall.
Dennis wants to take a breather but Mann is having none of it.

Dennis is looking for a kimura but Mann is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dennis to get the leverage.
Mann looks like he's trying to stand up.
Mann won't allow Dennis to pass to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dennis is working for a kimura but Mann is defending it quite comfortably.
Mann is trying to stand back up but Dennis is controlling him
Dennis keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dennis looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dennis uses his free foot to push down on Mann's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mann.

Dennis wants to finish this one by submission but Mann is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Dennis .

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dennis looking to control but Mann is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Dennis working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Mann wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Dennis swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Mann is now in Dennis 's guard. A big mistake from Dennis there, giving up the dominant position!

Dennis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mann throws a big elbow that misses.
Mann knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dennis on the ground.

Dennis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mann manages to get himself to full guard.

Dennis wants to pass the guard but Mann is keeping the position.
Dennis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Mann is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Dennis tries to free his leg and advance position but Mann is retaining full guard.
Dennis showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Dennis slips nicely into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kareem Dennis dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Carter Mann's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Mann works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Dennis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Dennis stands and throws Mann's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dennis is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mann will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Dennis tries to move to mount but Mann blocks the move with his legs.
Mann tries to escape but Dennis is in control.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Dennis working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dennis wants to control but Mann is keeping him busy.
Mann wants to get back to his feet but Dennis drags him back down.
Kareem Dennis has got the better of the ground game so far.

Dennis is working to tighten his grip on Mann's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Mann has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Dennis is really squeezing tight and eventually Mann passes out! Dennis breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Kareem Dennis !
In his post fight interview, Kareem Dennis started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
In defeat, Carter Mann stepped up to the mic, saying 'Wow, just...wow.'.
