PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sanderlei Bitetti (ranked 4054 p4p, 122 weight class) and Seishin Ryoshun (ranked 4065 p4p, 173 weight class). Ryoshun is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Strumbellas - Spirits. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sanderlei Bitetti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Seishin Ryoshun!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryoshun takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Bitetti connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Ryoshun misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bitetti chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Bitetti tries a head kick but it misses.
Ryoshun has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Bitetti loads up on a big right hand but Ryoshun slips the punch.
Ryoshun was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Bitetti displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ryoshun throws out the jab.

Ryoshun tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Bitetti throws a head punch that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bitetti had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ryoshun defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bitetti is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ryoshun is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ryoshun looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Bitetti is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bitetti had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ryoshun defends it easily.
Ryoshun is stalling in the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bitetti might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bitetti is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ryoshun is aware though and is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ryoshun passes Bitetti's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Bitetti is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ryoshun pulls his head out easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sanderlei Bitetti dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


A punch lands to the side of Bitetti 's head but he takes it in his stride.


It looks like Sanderlei Bitetti has been cut.
Bitetti scores with a head kick. Ryoshun tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Bitetti misses with a left hand
and Ryoshun counters with a nice uppercut.
Bitetti is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ryoshun can do to turn this around?
Bitetti ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bitetti was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Bitetti looks to score with a jab to the body but Ryoshun is just out of range.
Ryoshun misses with a straight right.
Ryoshun throws a looping overhand right but Bitetti ducks down to avoid it.
Bitetti cracks Ryoshun with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Bitetti swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ryoshun throws out a counter right but Bitetti avoids it with no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bitetti throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ryoshun connects with a single shot there.

Ryoshun drops Bitetti with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bitetti looks back up at him and smiles so Ryoshun waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Bitetti is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ryoshun flashes Bitetti a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Bitetti's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Bitetti crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Ryoshun punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Seishin Ryoshun!
During a confident post fight interview, Seishin Ryoshun thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
