Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dae Won Bong (ranked 5564 p4p, 559 weight class) and Areo Mona (ranked 5811 p4p, 575 weight class). Bong comes to the cage accompanied by Cypress Hill - Hits From the Bong. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mona loads up on a big right hand but Bong slips the punch.
Mona pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bong appears to be looking for a big counter.
A slow jab from Mona misses its intended target.
It looked like Bong was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Mona.
Mona tries to clinch but Bong moves out of range.
Mona throws a lazy body kick
and Bong counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Mona throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bong's waist but Bong gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mona off to one side.
Mona has a takedown stuffed.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice jab there from Bong.

It looks like Areo Mona has been cut.
Mona is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mona tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bong was well out of range. Poor timing from Mona.
As Mona looks to move away, Bong throws a big counter combo but Mona just gets out of the way.
Bong lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Mona misses with a kick to the body.
Bong looks to land a right hand but Mona moved out of range.
Mona drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Bong defends it well.
Bong lands a jab to the head.
Bong fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Mona is rocked!
Mona blocks a jab.
Mona with the counter takedown but Bong avoids it easily.
Mona wants to clinch.
Mona tries for a takedown but Bong circles away easily
and Bong counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Dae Won Bong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Areo Mona.

Mona throws a nice looking combination but Bong bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mona looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bong is fending him off so far but Mona persists. Nope, Bong circles away and we're back to standing.
Mona looks winded!
Bong waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mona.
Mona misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mona will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bong lands with a nice combination. Mona backs away looking to recover.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bong throws a series of punches but Mona avoids them all with ease.
Bong lands a jab to the head.
Dae Won Bong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A swing and a miss from Bong.
Mona is looking to clinch but Bong is avoiding it.
Mona shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Mona tries to clinch there but Bong circles away.
As Mona looks to move away, Bong throws a big counter combo but Mona just gets out of the way.
Bong throws a series of punches but Mona avoids them all with ease.
Mona shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Bong counters with a crisp right hand that drops Mona! Bong lets Mona back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Mona is still on wobbly legs! Can Bong finish him?
Mona avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mona tries to counter by closing the distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bong lands an uppercut, right on the button! Mona tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
