Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Federico Gaines!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ricky Bobby!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bobby shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gaines's guard.
Gaines could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gaines tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bobby throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Bobby has his foot on Gaines's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gaines works his way back into a safe position though.
Gaines tries to stand but Bobby is controlling from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gaines accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Gaines is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gaines controls Bobby momentarily but Bobby frees himself.
Gaines has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bobby can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bobby misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bobby has Gaines up against the cage in a clinch.
Gaines throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Gaines tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bobby smiles and moves away.
Gaines tries to keep at a distance but Bobby has taken the fight into the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gaines breaks from the clinch.
Bobby takes one on the button.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ricky Bobby will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Bobby shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bobby was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gaines is looking to get back to his feet here but Bobby is keeping cool and he's managed to take Gaines's back.
Will Bobby go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Gaines can't escape the position.

Bobby is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Gaines is defending well though. Bobby let's go of the attempt for now.
Well, with Bobby on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Gaines is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Bobby is controlling the position but Gaines somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bobby lands a nice short elbow.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bobby thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gaines's head.
Bobby wants to stand but Gaines has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Bobby is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Bobby is stalling here. Gaines is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bobby seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Gaines has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Bobby tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gaines wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Federico Gaines will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gaines holds on and takes a little breather.

Bobby looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Gaines tries to get to full guard but Bobby has control of the leg.

Bobby can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gaines is looking to escape.

Bobby cracks Gaines with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Bobby has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gaines's face.

I think Bobby has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
