PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Beat Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mac Dre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Brown might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Coal Chamber--Loco. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Beat Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mac Dre!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dre gets the takedown into side control.
Brown prevents Dre from improving position.
Brown might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Dre is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brown has escaped the position, nice work there.

Dre working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Brown is looking for a sweep.
Brown manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Dre is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Brown keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dre lands a nice short elbow.

Dre is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dre not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Dre looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Brown with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Brown knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dre on the ground.
Brown wants to improve his position but Dre is controlling well.
Dre throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Dre passes to full mount!
Brown tries to hold on but Dre postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dre lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Brown hang on?
Dre working the ground and pound effectively.
Dre has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Dre jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Brown manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Dre moves into full mount!
Dre looks gassed!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dre lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Brown hang on?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mac Dre dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Brown misses with a wild combination.
Dre circles away from the clinch attempt.

Dre feints and as Brown raises his hands in defense, Dre changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dre trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Dre lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Dre sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Brown's guard.
Dre thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Brown's head.

Dre looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dre is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Dre is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Brown keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Dre looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Brown with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Dre scoring with strikes to the body and head.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Brown is looking to control Dre's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brown avoid being mounted?
Brown tries to roll over but Dre keeps him under control.
Brown avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dre.
Dre throwing shots but Brown is blocking nicely.

Dre is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Brown is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mac Dre!
