Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Shawn MacGuire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mitchell Hernandez!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hernandez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. MacGuire tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hernandez is in MacGuire's guard.
MacGuire looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Hernandez drops back looking for a leg! MacGuire is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and MacGuire manages to kick Hernandez off! Hernandez jumps back into MacGuire's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hernandez has gone for a leg lock! MacGuire slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hernandez's guard.

Hernandez has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hernandez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Hernandez tries to stand and escape but MacGuire is controlling the position.

Hernandez is trying to work for a kimura but MacGuire is defending well.
MacGuire knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hernandez on the ground.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hernandez working over MacGuire with some ground and pound. MacGuire looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Hernandez is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Hernandez passes into side control, despite MacGuire's attempt to control the position.

Hernandez shoots in but MacGuire avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Hernandez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
MacGuire is trying to escape back to his feet but Hernandez uses the scramble to pass into side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hernandez working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Hernandez wants to lay and pray for a moment but MacGuire keeps working.
Hernandez lands an elbow.

Hernandez trying to control the action but MacGuire is working from the bottom.
Hernandez has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Hernandez trying to control but MacGuire is having none of it.
Hernandez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control MacGuire haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hernandez with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

That's time! MacGuire's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Hernandez gets a clinch.
Hernandez is trying to pull guard but MacGuire turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Hernandez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hernandez misses with a takedown attempt - MacGuire sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Shawn MacGuire has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mitchell Hernandez.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

MacGuire feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hernandez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hernandez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in MacGuire's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hernandez keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of MacGuire's head.
Mitchell Hernandez has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hernandez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of MacGuire is proving hard to escape from.
Hernandez passes MacGuire's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hernandez is keen to just control but MacGuire is a slippery customer.

MacGuire is in trouble now - Hernandez has advanced to mount!
Hernandez scoring with strikes but MacGuire is staying in there.
Hernandez wants to control the pace but MacGuire is squirming around nicely.

Hernandez has hold of MacGuire's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and MacGuire manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
BOOM! Hernandez connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Hernandez is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Hernandez gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hernandez lands with a left to the head.
Hernandez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hernandez drops down looking for an ankle pick but MacGuire pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hernandez darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hernandez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around MacGuire's waist but MacGuire gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hernandez off to one side.
Hernandez has a takedown stuffed.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hernandez clinches with his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mitchell Hernandez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

MacGuire is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hernandez wants to take a breather but MacGuire is having none of it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hernandez wants to lay and pray for a moment but MacGuire keeps working.

MacGuire takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Hernandez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Hernandez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but MacGuire can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hernandez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in MacGuire's guard.

Hernandez escapes and gets back to his feet.

Hernandez feints and as MacGuire raises his hands in defense, Hernandez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Shawn MacGuire has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mitchell Hernandez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Mitchell Hernandez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hernandez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
