Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ivory Moody (ranked 8485 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazuo Kiriyama (ranked 5359 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazuo Kiriyama!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Kiriyama throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Moody tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kiriyama is in Moody's guard.
Moody is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Kiriyama closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kiriyama lands in his opponent's guard.
Moody could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kiriyama seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kiriyama is pushing down on Moody's leg trying to pass to half guard. Moody is fighting to maintain full guard but Kiriyama has managed to sneak the leg through.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kiriyama tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kiriyama's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Kiriyama moves to take his opponent's back.
Kiriyama just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Kiriyama has the hooks in. Moody is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Moody is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Kiriyama.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Moody changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Kiriyama manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Moody on his heels. He'll look to pass Moody's guard now, I'm sure.
Kiriyama wants to pass the guard but Moody is keeping the position.
Kiriyama slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kiriyama takes a little break here. Moody wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Moody might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Let's hope that Kiriyama has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Kiriyama dives in and scores a takedown into Moody's guard.
Moody throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Kiriyama is pressing down on Moody's thigh, looking to free his foot. Moody is holding on for now.

Kazuo Kiriyama showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kiriyama is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Moody can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
