The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zumbehl works over Smith's head and body with a nice combination.
John Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zumbehl looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Zumbehl can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Smith had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Zumbehl is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Smith Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Zumbehl's back instead.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
