PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Horvat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ryan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Horvat is looking to regain half guard here but Ryan keeps moving and retains side control.
Ryan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Horvat on the ground.

Horrible takedown by Ryan or perhaps it was just good defense by Horvat which made him look bad.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Horvat shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Ryan counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ryan.

Ryan goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Horvat drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ryan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Horvat has Ryan in his guard.

Ivan Horvat showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Horvat has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Ryan. Oh but Horvat has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Ryan goes limp - he's gone! Horvat jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
