Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Teh Spanker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taneli Valkama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spanker stuffs the takedown attempt from Valkama. Valkama gets slowly back to his feet.
Valkama slips under a jab.
Spanker cracks Valkama with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Valkama shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Valkama shoots in looking for a takedown. Spanker tries to sprawl out of it but Valkama keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Spanker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Valkama shoots in for a takedown but Spanker shows good takedown defense.
Horrible takedown by Valkama or perhaps it was just good defense by Spanker which made him look bad.

Valkama shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Spanker's guard.

Valkama drops back looking for a leg! Spanker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Spanker manages to kick Valkama off! Valkama jumps back into Spanker's guard.

Spanker wants to stand up but Valkama is controlling him.

Spanker has his feet on Valkama's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Spanker misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Valkama.
Teh Spanker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Valkama shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Valkama fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Valkama tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Spanker swivels and escapes.

Valkama shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Spanker but Spanker pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Spanker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Valkama shoots in but no luck this time.
Spanker stuffs the takedown attempt from Valkama. Valkama gets slowly back to his feet.
Spanker dips to his left and cracks Valkama with an uppercut!

Valkama feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Spanker pushes Valkama off and scrambles back to his feet.
Taneli Valkama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spanker pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Spanker connects with a good right hand that stumbles Valkama. Valkama circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Valkama shoots in and bounces Spanker off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Valkama loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Valkama prevents Spanker from getting back to his feet.
Spanker trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

That was a close round but I would say that Teh Spanker will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Valkama shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Spanker as he jumps to the side.

Spanker throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Valkama feints and as Spanker raises his hands in defense, Valkama changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Valkama stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Spanker has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Valkama manages to get his head free but now Spanker has transitioned to an armbar! Valkama grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Spanker! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
