Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vinicius Soa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alejandro Vargas!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soa tries to clinch but Vargas moves out of range.
Soa fails to land the takedown.
Vargas keeps the fight on the outside.
Vargas lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Soa shoots in and bounces Vargas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Vargas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Soa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Vargas wants to get back to his feet but Soa is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vargas is looking to stand back up but Soa counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Vargas.
Soa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Soa passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Vargas!

Soa lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Soa cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Vargas is trying to stand.
Vargas is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
