Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Franklyn George !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 94 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Todd Tucker!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
George closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tucker circles away.
Tucker looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Nice sprawl there from Tucker as George shoots in.
George tries for a takedown but Tucker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Franklyn George . That's going to take a lot out of him.

George moves into the clinch.
George is looking to take this one to the mat.
Tucker is looking to break free of the clinch but George has double underhooks.

George drags the fight down to the ground.
George pulls Tucker in close to prevent any damage.

George is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tucker defends well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
George is looking to stand up but Tucker isn't so interested in that idea.

George is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
George throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
George looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
George is trying to control the position from the bottom.

George has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Tucker is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

George pulls guard.
George tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Tucker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with George . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tucker decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

George clinches.
Tucker misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from George .

George breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tucker throws a sloppy head kick and George moves out of range easily.

George shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than George was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
George 's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tucker can do anything to dispel that myth.
George advances to mount.
George takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
George with shots to the head and body - Tucker looks very uncomfortable down there.

George swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Tucker is now in George 's guard. A big mistake from George there, giving up the dominant position!
George wants to sweep but no luck.

George is looking for a triangle here but Tucker uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
George wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
George is looking for a sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Franklyn George dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


George avoids the head kick by Tucker.
George lands with a kick to the ribs.
George fails with the takedown.
George fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
George shoots for a takedown but Tucker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Tucker wants to counter the offense by George and move into the clinch position.

George shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tucker as he avoids it easily.

Tucker stalling in the clinch but George improves position.

The referee is keeping an eye on George - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with George for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

George is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Tucker is defending well.
George tries to pull guard but Tucker won't allow it.
Tucker has had enough of the clinch but George keeps him there for the moment.

Tucker is trying to maintain a safe position but George gets an underhook and turns Tucker into the cage.
George is looking to take this one to the mat.
Tucker wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but George has him pressed against the cage.
George tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tucker smiles and moves away.
George blocks a head kick by Tucker.
Todd Tucker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
George tries to clinch up but Tucker circles away and keeps his distance.
Todd Tucker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tucker throws a sloppy head kick and George moves out of range easily.

George gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
George jumps guard but Tucker stands there with George around his waist. George gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Tucker wants to get back to striking at distance but George won't allow it.

George pulls guard effortlessly.

Tucker gets to his feet - George follows without any prompting.
Tucker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
George fails with a takedown attempt.

George misses with a takedown attempt - Tucker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and George counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by George .
George is working for takedown but Tucker is calmly controlling the position for now.
Tucker gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from George .

George tries to pull guard but Tucker holds him up against the cage and eventually George drops back down to his feet.
George is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Tucker wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but George has him pressed against the cage.

George tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
George tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tucker smiles and moves away.
Tucker throws a head kick that misses.
George has a takedown stuffed.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from George .
George blocks a head kick by Tucker.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
George fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Tucker tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
George shoots in for a takedown but Tucker shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Todd Tucker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Tucker throws a head kick but George moves out of range.

George shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tucker manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Tucker wants to get back to his feet but George passes into half guard.

Tucker tries to kick George off in order to stand up. George Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

George thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
George controls the position.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Tucker is looking to work his way out of this bad position but George is controlling him well.

George working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
George is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
George working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

George looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Franklyn George overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
George has knee on belly and moves into mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
George trying to control but Tucker is having none of it.
You get the feeling that Tucker really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Tucker is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
George controlling from mount.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, George cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
George trying to control but Tucker is having none of it.
Tucker is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

George swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:49 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Franklyn George !
