PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Haiden Parish (ranked 5051 p4p, 340 weight class) and Johnny Barkley (ranked 7612 p4p, 408 weight class). Johnny Barkley told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parish with a poor takedown
and Barkley counters with a series of strikes. Parish will be more careful next time no doubt.
Barkley fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Parish swinging wildly here.
Parish throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Parish misses with a few strikes there.
It seemed like Barkley was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Parish fails with a takedown attempt.
Barkley throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Parish takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Barkley throws a body punch but Parish moves out of range.

Parish went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Parish gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Barkley counters with a nice uppercut.

Parish drops his hands momentarily and Barkley takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Barkley thuds a left hand into Parish's body.
Barkley swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Barkley fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Parish looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Parish shoots in but Barkley avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Parish gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Barkley connects with a right hand. Parish shakes it off.
Oh Parish is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
