Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shelby Nichols (ranked 8540 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarrod Maple (ranked 5420 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maple clinches.
Maple is struggling to control the position.
Nichols really is a fat lump.
Maple gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Nichols isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Maple stacks Nichols on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Maple!

Maple is working Nichols over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Nichols escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Maple gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Maple stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nichols swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Nichols manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Maple manages to get himself to full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Nichols misses with a takedown attempt - Maple sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Nichols shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Maple but Maple pushes him off and we're back to square one.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well Maple has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
