Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fabrizio Iacomelli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nathanial Roesler!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Viktor Lagutenko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iacomelli swats away the attempt to clinch by Roesler.
Roesler dives in and scores a takedown into Iacomelli's guard.
Iacomelli wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Roesler manages to pass to side control.
Roesler is working for a kimura but Iacomelli is defending it quite comfortably.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roesler not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Roesler thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Iacomelli's head.
Roesler throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Roesler is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
It looks like Roesler might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Roesler is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Roesler listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Roesler shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Roesler was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Iacomelli tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Roesler has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Iacomelli is defending well but eventually Roesler manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Iacomelli has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nathanial Roesler!
