Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Harrison Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hales Tigris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Harrison Hardy!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hales Tigris!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hardy shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Tigris is trying to get back to full guard.
It looks like Hardy is going to stand back up.
Hardy wants to stand up but Tigris manages to regain full guard.
Tigris not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Hardy preventing the sweep.

Tigris escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hardy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hardy decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Hardy decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tigris's guard.
Tigris has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Tigris had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hardy is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Tigris Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hardy's back instead.

Tigris is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hardy has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Hardy is trying to escape under a series of strikes and manages to escape from Tigris 's hooks.

Tigris throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Tigris has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hardy's face.
Hardy is squirming around, avoiding Tigris's attempts to control the action.

That was a close round but I would say that Harrison Hardy will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Hardy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Tigris makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tigris.
Hardy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hardy wanted to stand there but Tigris had control of the position.
Hardy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tigris is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hardy wants to get up but he can't break Tigris's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Tigris is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hardy wants to pass the guard but Tigris is keeping the position.
Tigris is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Tigris wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hardy, who protects the arm well.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hales Tigris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hardy tries to bum rush Tigris with a series of wild strikes but Tigris uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Hardy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tigris.

Hardy wants to stand but Tigris has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tigris is on top in guard.
Tigris won't allow Hardy to get back to his feet.
Tigris slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Tigris postures up in Hardy's guard and throws a big left but Hardy blocks it.

Well Hardy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
