Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Machiavelli RestInPiece (ranked 3237 p4p, 313 weight class) and Toturi Akodo (ranked 3820 p4p, 343 weight class). Akodo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Skip Marley - Lions. Toturi Akodo will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akodo misses the jab.
Akodo on the wrong end of a nice hook.

It looks like Toturi Akodo has been cut.
RestInPiece throws a body shot but no joy.
Akodo takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
RestInPiece throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Akodo paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Akodo slips a straight right by RestInPiece.
Akodo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but RestInPiece moves away.
Akodo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Akodo misses the shot to the body.
Akodo gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Akodo checks a leg kick.
RestInPiece pulls out of a head kick attempt.
RestInPiece takes one on the button.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jab, jab by RestInPiece - just one landing.
Akodo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
RestInPiece misses with an uppercut
and Akodo counters with a straight right hand.
Akodo throws a body kick, spinning off balance
enabling RestInPiece to counter with a crisp jab.
Akodo avoids the body shot from RestInPiece.

Akodo with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Akodo moves out of range as RestInPiece strikes.
Akodo looks to score with a jab to the body but RestInPiece is just out of range.
Akodo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but RestInPiece was well out of range. Poor timing from Akodo.
Akodo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before RestInPiece can pounce on him.
RestInPiece comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
RestInPiece throws a lazy right hand but Akodo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
RestInPiece fails in his attempt to clinch.
Akodo on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

That has opened up Toturi Akodo's cut even more.
We've been told by RestInPiece's head coaches at Midnight MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
RestInPiece uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Akodo.
Akodo takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
A combination from RestInPiece does no damage.
Akodo takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Akodo is rocked!
Nice straight punches there by Akodo. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Akodo.
Akodo is still on wobbly legs! Can RestInPiece finish him?

Akodo has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from RestInPiece.
RestInPiece lands a right hook to the body.
Akodo seems to have recovered his senses.
Akodo has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Akodo throws a predictable looking body shot
and RestInPiece connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

RestInPiece steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Akodo is out on his feet! RestInPiece sets himself and nearly takes Akodo's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
