Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Markus Warren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phillip McGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Markus Warren!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Phillip McGee!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGee misses with a body shot.
Warren shoots in looking for a takedown. McGee tries to sprawl out of it but Warren keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McGee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McGee swats away the attempt to clinch by Warren.
Warren is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Warren tries to clinch up but McGee circles away and keeps his distance.
Warren tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

McGee feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Warren takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

McGee gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Warren jumps into guard, dragging McGee to the mat.

McGee wants to control from the top but Warren keeps moving.

Warren on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Warren tries to get out of the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Warren wants to clinch
and McGee counters with a good, hard body kick but Warren shrugs it off.
Warren shoots in but no luck this time.

McGee has Warren up against the cage in a clinch.

Warren manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Warren looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Warren is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. McGee can't fight it off and eventually Warren manages to take the fight to the floor. McGee looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

McGee dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Warren. That did some damage!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Warren is not content to let McGee control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McGee misses with a head shot. Warren uses the momentum to regain guard.
Warren looking to hit a scissor sweep but McGee is one step ahead there.

McGee throws a strike but Warren rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

McGee preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

McGee has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

McGee escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Warren gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Warren prevents McGee from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phillip McGee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Phillip McGee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Warren looks to clinch
and McGee counters with a good, hard body kick but Warren shrugs it off.
Horrible takedown by Warren or perhaps it was just good defense by McGee which made him look bad.
No luck for Warren with that takedown attempt.
Warren shoots for a takedown but McGee saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

McGee fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Warren sprawls well initially but McGee persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
McGee takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Warren is refusing to be controlled, as McGee sits in half guard.
McGee perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

McGee is looking for a kimura but Warren is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McGee to get the leverage.
Warren tries to roll over but McGee keeps him under control.

McGee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Warren keeps working.

McGee scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McGee is trying to control. Warren wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Warren is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

McGee clinches with his opponent.

McGee throws an elbow but it's blocked.

McGee lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as McGee takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A looping hook to the body misses from McGee. Warren does a little dance to reset his feet.

That's time! Warren's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

McGee shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
McGee wants to control the pace but Warren is squirming around nicely.

McGee working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Warren turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips McGee off and cradles Warren's limp body as McGee celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 4, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Phillip McGee!
