Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian OBrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Omar Makhdoom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brian OBrien could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Omar Makhdoom's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Brian OBrien!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Omar Makhdoom!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OBrien avoids a punch combination nicely.
OBrien swats away the attempt to clinch by Makhdoom.
OBrien fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Makhdoom, pushing him back against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Makhdoom fails to land.
OBrien jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Makhdoom walks away with a smile on his face. OBrien gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
OBrien chopping away at his opponent's legs.
OBrien closes the distance and clinches up with Makhdoom, looking for a takedown. OBrien pushes Makhdoom against the cage but Makhdoom circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Makhdoom darts in trying to clinch
and OBrien holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
OBrien jumps guard but Makhdoom stands there with OBrien around his waist. OBrien gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian OBrien. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Makhdoom lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Makhdoom lands a left hand that snaps the head of OBrien backwards.
OBrien tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Makhdoom lands a body shot.

Makhdoom presses OBrien against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
OBrien tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Makhdoom just stands there and leans against the cage.
OBrien breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Makhdoom stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from OBrien.
Makhdoom looks to clinch
and OBrien counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Makhdoom is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Makhdoom is controlling OBrien's posture.
Makhdoom bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in OBrien's guard.
OBrien being controlled here, momentarily.

Makhdoom avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Makhdoom stops OBrien from standing up.
OBrien wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Makhdoom would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

OBrien working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Makhdoom doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Makhdoom manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Makhdoom stands and throws OBrien's legs to the side, diving into side control.
OBrien is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
OBrien struggling a bit here.
OBrien is not content to let Makhdoom control the position.
The referee asks Makhdoom politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Makhdoom prefers to stall for the moment though.
OBrien tries to bench press Makhdoom off him but Makhdoom keeps the position.
Makhdoom decides to stand back up. Makhdoom steps back and let's OBrien get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Brian OBrien will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Makhdoom closes the distance but OBrien moves to the side
and OBrien counters with a single leg into guard. Makhdoom didn't expect that.
Makhdoom wants to control but OBrien passes easily into half guard.
Makhdoom is trying to maintain the position but OBrien is very close to passing his half guard.
OBrien wants to lay and pray for a moment but Makhdoom keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
OBrien is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Makhdoom is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

OBrien stalling.
Makhdoom is trying to maintain the position but OBrien is very close to passing his half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Makhdoom fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with OBrien, pushing him back against the cage.
Makhdoom is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but OBrien is keeping busy.
OBrien tries to pull guard but Makhdoom holds him up against the cage and eventually OBrien drops back down to his feet.
Makhdoom lands with a light punch inside.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Makhdoom creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Makhdoom pushes OBrien back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Makhdoom lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
OBrien wants to break the clinch but can't.
A nice right hand lands inside from Makhdoom.
Makhdoom lands with a left to the head.
OBrien's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
OBrien gets a clinch.
Makhdoom lands an uppercut.

Makhdoom has a couple of punches blocked by OBrien.
A right handed body shot lands from Makhdoom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A nice left hand lands by Makhdoom.
A shot in the inside from Makhdoom.
OBrien is rocked!
Makhdoom just leaning against OBrien, taking a breather.
Oh OBrien is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A quick uppercut on the inside from Makhdoom.
OBrien is working for takedown but Makhdoom is calmly controlling the position for now.
Makhdoom lands a hook that snaps the head of OBrien backwards.
Makhdoom lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops OBrien to his knees! Makhdoom keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
