Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wallace Kirkland (ranked 6331 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Steinberg (ranked 5221 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wallace Kirkland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, David Steinberg!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kirkland gets caught flat footed, as Steinberg shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kirkland is wriggling around but Steinberg manages to pass to half guard.

Kirkland flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Kirkland is not content to let Steinberg control the position.
Steinberg with the ground and pound but Kirkland uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Steinberg trying to control but Kirkland is working from the bottom.
Kirkland will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kirkland throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Steinberg controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kirkland is adopting a defensive guard.
Steinberg wants to get up but he can't break Kirkland's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Steinberg looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Steinberg gets to his feet. Kirkland looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Steinberg misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Steinberg lands a head kick. Kirkland smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Kirkland gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Steinberg to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Kirkland is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Kirkland throws a couple of heel strikes.
Kirkland looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Steinberg puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Kirkland is looking to escape.
Steinberg content to control rather than advance.
Steinberg frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kirkland tries to hold on but Steinberg postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Steinberg controlling the position easily from mount.
Kirkland throwing hammer fists to the chest of Steinberg. What's that going to do exactly?
Kirkland really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Steinberg fails to advance to Kirkland's back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Steinberg dominated that round.
That's time! Kirkland's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Steinberg shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kirkland's guard.

Kirkland scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Steinberg has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Steinberg looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kirkland!
Kirkland manages to work his way to half guard, despite Steinberg's best efforts.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Steinberg wants to control but Kirkland is keeping him busy.
Steinberg is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Steinberg looking to sit in guard and control but Kirkland gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kirkland is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Steinberg is looking to stand up but Kirkland isn't so interested in that idea.
Steinberg has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Kirkland has passed into side control.
Kirkland controlling the position.
A control attempt from Steinberg but he's now mounted!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kirkland landing strikes from the mount and Steinberg is in trouble!
Steinberg tries to reverse the position but Kirkland maintains control.
Kirkland content just to control the position here.
Kirkland seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Steinberg for as long as he can get away with.

Steinberg wants to control but Kirkland is having none of it.
Kirkland controlling the position easily from mount.
Steinberg tries to lock up and control but Kirkland gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Steinberg tries to reverse the position but Kirkland maintains control.
Steinberg is breathing heavily.
Steinberg wants to control but Kirkland is having none of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Steinberg might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kirkland haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Steinberg has given up his back.
Steinberg is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Can Steinberg hold on?! Kirkland is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kirkland controls the position.
Steinberg is really stuck here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wallace Kirkland dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Steinberg feints and as Kirkland raises his hands in defense, Steinberg changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kirkland trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Steinberg is sitting in close to Kirkland's body. Kirkland has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Steinberg is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Steinberg is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Kirkland.
