Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Enrique Mcintyre (ranked 25138 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Archer (ranked 7435 p4p, 0 weight class). Harry Archer has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Enrique Mcintyre's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Enrique Mcintyre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Harry Archer!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Ron Honeybunn and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Archer darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Mcintyre controlling the position well.
Mcintyre has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Mcintyre won't allow Archer to pass to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Archer is just content to waste time from the top position. Mcintyre takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mcintyre has his hands on Archer's head, controlling the position.
Archer trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcintyre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mcintyre wants to sweep here but Archer controlling him for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mcintyre shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Archer as he jumps to the side.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Archer.
Mcintyre is not content to let Archer control the position.
Mcintyre tries to buck Archer off but Archer is having none of it.
Mcintyre dodges the ground and pound from Archer.

Archer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Archer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Archer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mcintyre is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
I wouldn't like to be where Mcintyre is right now.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Archer stands up.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Archer drives through with a takedown into Mcintyre's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

A close round but Harry Archer will probably get the nod.

Archer fails with an attempt to clinch.

Archer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mcintyre was covering up waiting for the punch and Archer finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mcintyre wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Archer wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Mcintyre breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mcintyre is looking to stand back up but Archer counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Mcintyre.

Mcintyre is controlling Archer's trapped leg to prevent Archer from advancing to side control.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Archer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mcintyre wants to sweep here but Archer controlling him for the moment.
Mcintyre pulls Archer in close to prevent any damage.

Archer gets to his feet - Mcintyre follows without any prompting.

Archer gets a takedown into half guard.

Mcintyre kicks Archer off and gets back to his feet.
Archer is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Archer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mcintyre drops down looking for a counter takedown but Archer sprawls and moves away.
Mcintyre tries for a takedown but Archer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Archer throws a counter combo.
Mcintyre throws a push kick but Archer slaps the foot to one side.
Archer tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Mcintyre counters with a nice double leg into side control. Archer won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Archer regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Enrique Mcintyre will probably get the nod.

Archer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mcintyre is trying to defend but Archer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mcintyre is on top in guard.

Mcintyre is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mcintyre drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mcintyre jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mcintyre is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Archer has momentary wrist control but Mcintyre slips an elbow through the middle.
Mcintyre stands up over Archer, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Archer has his foot on Mcintyre's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mcintyre works his way back into a safe position though.
