Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Gil Hebert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Alireza Alireza!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alireza closes the distance and clinches up with Hebert, looking for a takedown. Alireza pushes Hebert against the cage but Hebert circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Alireza takes the fight into the clinch.

Alireza jumps into guard, dragging Hebert to the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hebert lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Hebert is in close to Alireza's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Hebert makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hebert is working Alireza over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hebert stands up over Alireza, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Hebert seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Alireza for as long as he can get away with.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Hebert's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Alireza turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

and Hebert decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Alireza's guard.
Alireza is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hebert dives into side control.

Hebert working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Hebert cracks Alireza with a big right hand but Alireza just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Hebert connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Alireza some visible discomfort.


Alireza is rocked!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Alireza is still in real trouble! Can Hebert finish him?
Hebert cracks Alireza with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Hebert really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Alireza is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hebert connects with a decent elbow.
Hebert just content to control the position.
Hebert lands a strong strike to the head of Alireza. That's dazed him! Hebert looking to finish here. Alireza is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Hebert lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
