PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Harper (ranked 4378 p4p, 486 weight class) and Will Kush (ranked 4608 p4p, 505 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Will Kush was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Will Kush!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harper gets a clinch.
Kush blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Kush prevents a body shot from Harper.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Harper.
Kush looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Harper escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice body punch from Harper.
Harper misses with a wild body shot.
Harper darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Kush darts in and clinches Harper up against the cage.
Harper tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Harper.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Harper.
Kush is working for takedown but Harper is calmly controlling the position for now.
Kush changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Harper fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Kush tries to keep at a distance but Harper has taken the fight into the clinch.

Harper lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Kush drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Harper gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Gordon Harper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Kush.
Harper lands with a left to the head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Harper.
Harper is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kush is defending well for now.
Harper swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Kush goes for a takedown attempt but Harper pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kush looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Harper lands a nice shot that snaps Kush's head back.
Kush misses with a looping left.

Harper closes the distance and clinches.

Harper pushes Kush back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Harper lands an uppercut.
Kush avoiding damage as Harper throws knees to the body.
Kush blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Kush jumps guard and drags Harper to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Kush has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Harper should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kush has tightened it up now! Harper should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
