The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spartan throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Petrovs's head.

Spartan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Petrovs.
Petrovs shoots in looking for a takedown but Spartan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Petrovs's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Spartan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Petrovs's guard.
Spartan stands and throws Petrovs's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Petrovs is trying to improve his position.
Spartan wants to control but Petrovs is keeping him busy.

Spartan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Spartan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
