PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Soren Bak (ranked 3161 p4p, 258 weight class) and Glenn Langfinger (ranked 4704 p4p, 336 weight class). Glenn Langfinger struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 146.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Soren Bak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Glenn Langfinger!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Langfinger darts in looking for a takedown but Bak gets double underhooks and turns Langfinger into the cage.
Bak looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Langfinger fails with a takedown attempt.

Langfinger rushes Bak and presses him up against the cage.
Bak is pressed up against the cage. Langfinger has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bak down to the mat. Bak avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Soren Bak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Glenn Langfinger.

Bak moves into the clinch.
Langfinger doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bak is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Langfinger is looking for a takedown.
Langfinger is looking to break free of the clinch but Bak has double underhooks.
Bak landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Bak lands an elbow just above Langfinger 's eye.

Langfinger takes a knee to the side of the body.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Bak obliges.

Bak breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bak keeps Langfinger at a distance using the push kick.

Bak has managed to clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Bak obliges.
Bak lands a knee to the head.

Bak jumps into guard, dragging Langfinger to the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bak is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Bak looking for a guillotine here but Langfinger defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Langfinger won't allow Bak to get back to his feet.
Langfinger trying to control but Bak is working from the bottom.
Bak knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Langfinger on the ground.
Langfinger wants to stand but Bak has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Langfinger got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bak has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Langfinger has managed to get both his arms back between Bak's legs - danger averted.
Bak keeping moving, preventing Langfinger from controlling successfully.
Bak seems keen to control Langfinger's posture.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bak is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Langfinger is aware though and is defending well.
Langfinger trying to control the position from guard on top but Bak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Langfinger won't allow Bak to sweep him here.

Bak is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Langfinger trying to control but Bak is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bak is pulling down on Langfinger's head. It's preventing any offense from Langfinger, at least for the moment.
Langfinger trying to control the position from guard on top but Bak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bak scores with a nice head shot.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Langfinger looks for a takedown but Bak sprawls well.

Bak takes the fight into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Soren Bak dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Langfinger shoots for a double leg takedown but Bak sprawls well. He's pushed Langfinger's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bak closes the distance and pushes Langfinger back into the cage.

Bak escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Bak is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Bak lands a damaging elbow.
Bak with a knee to the head.


Langfinger is rocked!
Bak has Langfinger pushed against the cage.
Langfinger is still on wobbly legs! Can Bak finish him?
Bak is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Langfinger can do to turn this around?
Bak content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Bak is looking to land a big knee to finish this one. He's got control of the head and as Langfinger tries to break Bak's hands from around his neck, Bak unloads with that fight ending knee, right up the middle! Oh man, that was nasty! Langfinger will need to get back to the training room and learn how to defend against the thai clinch! Oooh, his nose is a mess. Hopefully it's not broken.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Soren Bak!
Soren Bak bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
