Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Darryl Frank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dr Wiggle Worm!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Frank instigates a clinch.

Frank jumps guard.
Wiggle Worm sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Frank's guard.
Wiggle Worm wants to stand up but Frank has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Wiggle Worm is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Frank sees it coming and defends easily.
Frank is looking for a sweep. Wiggle Worm is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Frank makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Frank.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wiggle Worm slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Let's hope that Wiggle Worm has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Frank wants to get back to his feet but Wiggle Worm passes into half guard.

Frank has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Frank shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wiggle Worm as he jumps to the side.
Wiggle Worm tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Frank appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Wiggle Worm throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Frank tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wiggle Worm is in Frank's guard.
Wiggle Worm won't allow Frank to get back to his feet.

Wiggle Worm throws the left hand but Frank avoids the punch easily.

Frank moves into the clinch successfully.
Frank is working for takedown but Wiggle Worm is calmly controlling the position for now.

Wiggle Worm is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Frank blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Frank ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Frank no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Wiggle Worm is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Frank's shoulder. That is not cool.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Dr Wiggle Worm showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Frank moves into range and clinches up with Wiggle Worm.

Dr Wiggle Worm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looked like Frank was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Wiggle Worm.
Darryl Frank has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dr Wiggle Worm.
