Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Huey Ball (ranked 23021 p4p, 0 weight class) and TJ Kinsler (ranked 7387 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Huey Ball!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, TJ Kinsler !
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Aleksandr Martynov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kinsler throws a lazy head kick

and Ball counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Kinsler is trying to get back to full guard.

Kinsler looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Kinsler is doing well to control the position and prevent Ball from advancing to side control.
Kinsler is continuing to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ball trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kinsler can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kinsler wants to stand up but Ball is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kinsler trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Ball throws a big right hand that misses.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Kinsler clinches with his opponent.

Ball manages to break the clinch.
Kinsler fails with a takedown attempt.
Kinsler shoots for a takedown but Ball saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ball wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kinsler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ball as he jumps to the side.
Huey Ball has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of TJ Kinsler .

Ball gets a clinch.
Kinsler has Ball pressed against the cage, preventing Ball from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Kinsler fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Ball breaks from the clinch.
Ball throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kinsler throws a leg kick
and Ball makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Kinsler displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ball.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kinsler .

Kinsler closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ball quickly recovers to half guard.
Kinsler looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Ball makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ball.
Ball is adopting a defensive guard.
Kinsler is stalling in the full guard.

Kinsler lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Ball trying to keep a closed guard but Kinsler is proving a slippery customer.

Ball looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kinsler wanted to stand there but Ball had control of the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kinsler trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kinsler shoots in and drives through. Ball sprawls well.

With the fighters up against the cage, Kinsler throws an elbow but misses.
Ball is trying to force a seperation but Kinsler has the dominant position.
Kinsler lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Stalling in the clinch from Ball.
Kinsler is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ball pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kinsler lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ball backwards.
Kinsler tries to pull guard but Ball holds him up against the cage and eventually Kinsler drops back down to his feet.
Huey Ball has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of TJ Kinsler .

Ball breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

TJ Kinsler is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kinsler has managed to clinch.
Kinsler keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ball's efforts to push away.

Ball wants to break the clinch but can't.

Kinsler has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ball regains guard immediately.

Kinsler passes Ball's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Kinsler wants to free his trapped foot but Ball is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Ball tries to kick Kinsler off but Kinsler keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
TJ Kinsler has got the better of the ground game so far.

Ball is trying to stand up here but Kinsler is controlling him well.

Kinsler is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ball is just riding it out for now. Kinsler eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ball is trying to break free.
Kinsler is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Ball stuffs the takedown attempt from Kinsler . Kinsler gets slowly back to his feet.

Kinsler has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A frustrated look appears on Ball's face as he tries to break the clinch.

TJ Kinsler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Ball tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ball wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Kinsler shoots in but Ball avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kinsler takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Nice sprawl there from Ball as Kinsler shoots in.

Kinsler on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Ball postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kinsler wants to control but Ball postures up.
Kinsler wants to get back to his feet.
Kinsler is trying to improve his position.
Kinsler isn't going anywhere.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Huey Ball.
I think Ball has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
