Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danny Court!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Court dives in and grabs Acosta's left leg, looking for a takedown. Acosta pushes down on Court's head and hops out.
Acosta looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Court cracks Acosta with a solid left hand.
Acosta throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Acosta takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Acosta takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Court is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Acosta has escaped the position, nice work there.

Court decides to stand up, so the ref orders Acosta to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Court misses with a jab, cross combination.
Acosta is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Court.
Danny Court is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Court rushes Acosta and presses him up against the cage.

Court throws a right and a left that Acosta avoids nicely.
Acosta is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

A bit of stalling here from Acosta.

Acosta tries to work over Court's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Court tries a body shot but Acosta blocks it.
The referee is keeping an eye on Acosta - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Court fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Court breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Court has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Court circles away from the clinch attempt.
Court misses with a few strikes there.
Acosta misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Court swats away the attempt to clinch by Acosta.

Court closes the distance and clinches.

Court works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Acosta is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Acosta is working an open guard so Court takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Acosta jabs Court to the body, keeping him at a distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Court.
Edwin Acosta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Court.
Court looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Acosta is fending him off so far but Court persists. Nope, Acosta circles away and we're back to standing.
Acosta tried to counter with a leg kick but Court avoided it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Acosta tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Court defends well and Acosta ends up having to push Court into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Court showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Court shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Acosta manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Acosta is looking to cinch up a triangle. Court throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Acosta's body to avoid the submission. Acosta has instead reached around Court's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Acosta arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Edwin Acosta!
