Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Arruda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthuro Franco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franco clinches up against the cage.
Franco turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Franco manages to end up in side control.
Franco has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Arruda drives through and clinches with Franco against the cage.
Arruda wants to break free but Franco has control.

Arruda avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Arruda shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Franco as he jumps to the side.
Rodrigo Arruda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Franco tries to clinch but Arruda is having none of it.

Franco is controlling the position but Arruda somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

Arruda is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Franco gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Franco is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Arruda pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Franco stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Arruda to get to his feet.

Franco shoots in and bounces Arruda off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

and Franco counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Arruda!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Arruda is fighting off a takedown attempt but Franco is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Arruda to the mat. Arruda regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well Franco has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
