Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Knowles (ranked 25322 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaxson Kane (ranked 4079 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter Knowles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jaxson Kane!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kane looks to land a body kick but Knowles moved away.
Kane tries for a takedown but Knowles circles away easily

and Knowles counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Knowles stops Kane from standing up.

Kane working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Knowles doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Knowles manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Kane is looking to stand up but Knowles isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Knowles wants to control from the top but Kane keeps moving.

Kane has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Knowles trying to control but Kane is working from the bottom.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kane holds on and takes a little breather.

Kane has his foot on Knowles's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Knowles works his way back into a safe position though.
Knowles wants to control from the top but Kane keeps moving.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Knowles's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A chopping leg kick lands by Kane.
Kane slaps away a takedown attempt from Knowles, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kane drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Knowles defends it well.
Kane misses with a wild body shot.
Kane shoots in for a takedown but Knowles shows good takedown defense.
Kane fails with the takedown
and Kane takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Peter Knowles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaxson Kane.

Kane slaps away a takedown attempt from Knowles, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kane is looking for the big counter here.
Jaxson Kane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kane forces Knowles back against the cage and clinches.
Knowles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Knowles has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kane after a bit of a struggle.

Kane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Knowles avoids the head kick by Kane.
Knowles attempts a counter takedown but Kane avoids it well and moves away.

Kane gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kane drops down looking for an ankle pick but Knowles pulls his leg out and moves away.
No luck for Kane with that takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kane takes a swing at Knowles's ribcage but misses.
Knowles stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Knowles wants it to stay on the feet.
Knowles fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kane looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Knowles is fending him off so far but Kane persists. Nope, Knowles circles away and we're back to standing.

Kane closes the distance and clinches.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Knowles tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kane just stands there and leans against the cage.

Knowles tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Knowles blocks a head kick by Kane.
Kane slaps away a takedown attempt from Knowles, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Kane instigates a clinch.
Knowles has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kane avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kane drags the fight down to the ground.

Kane wants to control but Knowles passes easily into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kane wants to improve his position but Knowles is controlling well.
Kane preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Kane is continuing to stall.
Knowles will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Knowles is thwarting Kane's attempts to control the position.
Knowles tries to pass to full mount but Kane defends it.
Kane wants to get back to his feet.
Kane has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kane is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Knowles trying to control from half guard but Kane is working away.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Kane shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Kane pulls guard successfully.
Knowles trying to control but Kane is working from the bottom.
Knowles is fighting to break Kane's control of his arms but Kane is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Kane looking to hit a scissor sweep but Knowles is one step ahead there.
Kane trying to keep a closed guard but Knowles is proving a slippery customer.

Jaxson Kane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kane clinches.

Kane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Knowles gets tackled into the cage by Kane. Kane maintains the clinch.

Kane jumps into guard, dragging Knowles to the mat.
Kane is trying to control the position but Knowles postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kane wants to sweep here but Knowles controlling him for the moment.

Kane is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Kane had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Knowles defends it easily.

Kane is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jaxson Kane has got the better of the ground game so far.
Knowles is trying to stand back up but Kane is controlling him

Knowles is not content to let Kane control the position.
Knowles wants to improve his position but Kane is controlling well.
Knowles wants to control but Kane is keeping busy.
Knowles slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Kane is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Knowles working a defensive guard but Kane passes into half guard.
Kane is nestled in close to Knowles, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Knowles is looking to escape.
Kane lands strikes from half guard.
Kane is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Kane moves into full mount! Knowles won't be happy about that!

Kane jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Knowles is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Knowles and Kane has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Jaxson Kane is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Jaxson Kane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
