The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jenova.
Alvarez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jenova to the mat! Jenova manages to get full guard.
Jenova is wriggling around but Alvarez manages to pass to half guard.
Alvarez is looking to take a break and control but Jenova is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jenova makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jenova.
Jenova is trying to keep Alvarez in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alvarez wanted to stand there but Jenova had control of the position.

Jenova gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Alvarez closes the distance and pushes Jenova back into the cage.
Alvarez goes for a takedown in the clinch but Jenova prevents it.
Jenova throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Alvarezs head.
Alvarez tries to score a body lock takedown but Jenova shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Alvarez shoots in and drives through. Jenova sprawls well.

and Jenova connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That was a close round but I would say that Ricardo Alvarez will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Alvarez wants to clinch up but Jenova keeps it at a distance.
Alvarez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jenova fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Alvarez is out of range.
Jenova lands a nice leg kick that just misses Alvarez's sensitive parts.

Jenova tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jenova scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Jenova takes a swing at Alvarez's ribcage but misses.
Good leg kick by Alvarez there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Alvarez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jenova sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alvarez somewhat.

Alvarez dives in and grabs Jenova's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jenova pushes down on Alvarez's head and hops out.
Jenova pivots, looking for a leg kick but Alvarez is out of range and Jenova settles back down.
Jenova throws a jab when Alvarez was well out of range.
Alvarez lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Alvarez connects with a right hand. Jenova shakes it off.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jenova.
Jenova throws a nice inside leg kick.
Jenova takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Alvarez fails to land with a series of punches.
Alvarez tries to move into range but Jenova moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Alvarez is rocked!
Jenova sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Alvarez's defenses. It connects perfectly with Alvarez's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kenith Jenova!
