Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deontay Wilder (ranked 5273 p4p, 443 weight class) and Losha Krigel (ranked 5312 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Losha Krigel!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krigel has his takedown stuffed
enabling Wilder to counter with a crisp jab.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Wilder tries to pull guard but Krigel holds him up against the cage and eventually Wilder drops back down to his feet.
Wilder wants to break free but Krigel has control.
Krigel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Krigel changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Wilder fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Wilder doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Krigel counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Wilder thinking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Deontay Wilder has been cut.
Wilder shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Krigel defends it nicely.
Krigel throws a fast counter high kick but Wilder manages to duck under it in time.

Krigel shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wilder as he jumps to the side.
Krigel cracks Wilder with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Krigel shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Wilder is trying to defend but Krigel finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Wilder tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Krigel manages to move to mount!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Wilder holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Krigel jumps guard but Wilder turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Wilder has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Krigel is striking from the bottom but Wilder uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Krigel is doing well to control the position and prevent Wilder from advancing to side control.

Krigel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wilder gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Wilder shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Krigel but Krigel pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Krigel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Krigel gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Wilder lands a hook that snaps the head of Krigel backwards.
Wilder fails to pull guard.

Krigel is pushing Wilder up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Krigel drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Wilder defends it well.

Wilder stuffs the takedown attempt from Krigel. Krigel gets slowly back to his feet.
Krigel shoots for a double leg takedown but Wilder sprawls well. He's pushed Krigel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Losha Krigel seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Nice takedown defense from Wilder. No joy for Krigel on that attempt.
Wilder lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Wilder dives in and grabs Krigel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Krigel pushes down on Wilder's head and hops out.

and Krigel counters with a leg kick.

Krigel thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Wilder if he has to take too many more of those.

Well, if Krigel is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wilder regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Krigel.
Krigel's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Krigel forces Wilder back against the cage and clinches.
Stalling in the clinch from Krigel.

Krigel drags the fight down to the ground.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Krigel. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Krigel looking for a guillotine here but Wilder defends easily.
Wilder knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Krigel on the ground.
Wilder tries to free his leg and advance position but Krigel is retaining full guard.

Wilder drops back looking for a leg! Krigel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Krigel manages to kick Wilder off! Wilder jumps back into Krigel's guard.
Krigel looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Krigel manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Wilder avoids the body shot from Krigel.
Krigel lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Krigel.
Wilder fails to land the takedown.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wilder shoots for a takedown but Krigel saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Losha Krigel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Krigel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
