The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Coutinho, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
It looked like Forbes was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Coutinho misses with a double jab.
As Coutinho tries to get set, Forbes tries to push him back and clinch up but Coutinho manages to avoid the attempt.
Coutinho throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Coutinho lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Forbes circles away quickly and effectively.

Forbes jumps guard and drags Coutinho to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Forbes wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Forbes shoots in looking for a takedown but Coutinho manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Forbes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Forbes has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Coutinho uses from the top position.
Forbes utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Coutinho wants to lay and pray for a moment but Forbes keeps working.
