Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gibson do Carmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez comes to the cage accompanied by Raised Fist - Words and Phrases. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez slips a jab from do Carmo.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alvarez wants to take a breather but do Carmo is having none of it.

Alvarez is trying to control the action in half guard but do Carmo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Alvarez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in do Carmo's guard.

Alvarez is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if do Carmo gets his way!

Alvarez is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
You can see the frustration on Alvarez's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
