And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mbaye Pukamaku!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Oliveira dives in for a single leg takedown but Pukamaku sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Pukamaku shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pukamaku showed some decent athleticism there.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pukamaku takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
De Oliveira has hold of Pukamaku's hands but Pukamaku slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Pukamaku slips a nice elbow through De Oliveira's hands, connecting with De Oliveira's forehead.
Pukamaku is taking a breather. De Oliveira says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Pukamaku lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
De Oliveira tries to roll over but Pukamaku keeps him under control.
Pukamaku looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks De Oliveira with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Still in half guard, Pukamaku seems content to control.

Pukamaku is nestled in close to De Oliveira, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
De Oliveira is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pukamaku scores with a couple of nice shots.
Still in half guard, Pukamaku seems content to control.

Pukamaku is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Let's hope that Pukamaku has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

It looks like Pukamaku might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Pukamaku throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. De Oliveira was covering up waiting for the punch and Pukamaku finishes the takedown easily into guard.
