The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mawe throws a series of punches but Schlimen moves out of range.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Schlimen enables Mawe to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Schlimen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Schlimen pulls Mawe in close to prevent any damage.

Schlimen working for a triangle but Mawe defends it easily.
Schlimen controls Mawe momentarily but Mawe frees himself.
Schlimen is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Flexx zone that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Mawe is working Schlimen over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Mawe working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
