Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lachlan Myers (ranked 22616 p4p, 481 weight class) and Jose Tapia (ranked 4172 p4p, 327 weight class). Myers comes into the arena with The Soldier's Song blaring out of the sound system. Lachlan Myers had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 147.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Lachlan Myers has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Myers as Tapia shoots in.
Myers definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Myers looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Tapia fails with the takedown.
Myers keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Tapia is looking to advance position but Myers has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Tapia is pulling down on Myers's head. It's preventing any offense from Myers, at least for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Myers is looking to stand back up but Tapia counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Myers.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tapia in particular looking to stall.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tapia tries to move to mount but Myers blocks the move with his legs.

Tapia shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Myers as he avoids it easily.
Myers throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Myers gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Tapia to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Tapia keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Myers's head.

Tapia jumps guard and drags Myers to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Myers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Tapia changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Myers looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Myers tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
