The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

We've been told by Candy's head coaches at Blake Phoenix's Champion Factory that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A punch lands to the side of Perez 's head but he takes it in his stride.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Candy throws an overhand right that lands on Perez 's shoulder, as Perez tries to avoid the shot.
And Perez tries to counter it with a takedown but Candy pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Perez has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Candy throws a sloppy head kick and Perez moves out of range easily.

Candy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perez on the ground.
