Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Krystian Soszynski (ranked 447 p4p, 75 weight class) and Markus Drotske (ranked 944 p4p, 141 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drotske darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Drotske trying to pass the guard but Soszynski defending well.
My spies in Fit-Out inform me that Drotske has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Drotske is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Drotske seems to be working for a kimura but Soszynski defends the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drotske seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Soszynski has recovered full guard.
Soszynski wants to sweep but no luck.
Drotske stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Soszynski swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Soszynski is controlling Drotske's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Drotske stands and throws Soszynski's legs to the side, diving into side control.
You can see the frustration on Soszynski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Drotske has hold of Soszynski's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Soszynski tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Drotske cranks the arm and Soszynski screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Soszynski, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Markus Drotske!
