Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jerry Parrish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dodong Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parrish fails with a takedown attempt.
Santiago fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Parrish manages to avoid it.

Santiago fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Parrish sprawls well initially but Santiago persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Parrish is trying to stand.
Santiago is thwarting Parrish's attempts to control the position.
Parrish manages to get to full guard.
Parrish is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Santiago is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Santiago tries to stand but Parrish is controlling from the bottom.
Santiago must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Santiago stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Parrish swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Parrish has his hands on Santiago's head, controlling the position.

Santiago thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Parrish lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Santiago is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Parrish is controlling him.
Santiago wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Parrish manages to pass to side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Parrish stops Santiago from getting back to his feet.
Santiago blocking the ground and pound attempt from Parrish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Parrish is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Santiago is defending against the submission attempts here by Parrish.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Parrish connects with a nice short shot to Santiago's temple.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Parrish looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Santiago with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Parrish wants to stand but Santiago has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Santiago has one foot on Parrish's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Santiago cracks Parrish with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Parrish looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Santiago finish him?


It looks like Jerry Parrish has been cut.
Santiago catches Parrish with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Parrish forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
