The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aluise scores with the left hand. Smith knows he should have avoided that one.
Smith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Aluise.
Aluise shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Aluise keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith wants a takedown.
Aluise unloads a knee to the mid-section. Smith lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Aluise tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Aluise will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Smith fails to land the takedown.
Aluise tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Smith counters by clinching up.
Smith keeps control of Aluise as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Aluise has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Smith is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Aluise looks winded!
Smith's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Aluise tries to pull guard but Smith forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Smith has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Aluise avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Aluise is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Smith lets go of the hold and Aluise can pop his arm back in it's socket.
